Role purpose
The job holder is responsible for planning, delivering and working with artists and partners both in Indonesia and in the UK to help develop the relationships between artists and arts organisations. The individual will work with the team, the Indonesian arts sector (taken to include theatre, dance, music, visual arts, design, literature, film and creative economy), colleagues in the UK and the British arts sector to effectively impelemt arts programmes and partnerships under the UK/Indonesia Season 2016-18 banner. The emphasis is on the relationship-building elements which will include developing and implementing residency programmes, producer networking, developing collaborations and co-productions. Programmes will be developed and delivered in line with key priorities and will contribute to improving connections and relationships between the Indonesian and British arts sectors and reflect British Council’s cultural relations mission. Programmes are to be delivered in line with the British Council’s cultural relations mission to improve connections and relationships between the Indonesian and British arts sectors.

Role Specific Skills
  • Professional working knowledge of Indonesian arts and creative sector
  • Some knowledge of the UK arts and creative sector
  • Curatorial, production or programme skills development and project management
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Experience in communicating effectively and appropriately to different audience, including confident interaction with senior figures, both in writing and verbally
